The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), in collaboration with the American Frozen Food Institute and the Move to –15°C initiative, has introduced a new protocol that sets a clear standard for how frozen food temperatures should be tracked and documented across the entire supply chain.

This new standard marks a critical step forward for the cold chain industry. It's designed to improve food quality, reduce energy consumption, and modernize the way frozen goods move from production to the end consumer. With sustainability and efficiency at the forefront, the protocol aims to bring consistency and visibility to an area that has long faced challenges.

As anyone in the industry knows, the journey of frozen food is complex. It’s filled with multiple handoffs between facilities, transport vehicles, and storage points. Maintaining consistent temperatures and accurately tracking that data throughout the journey is no easy task. Yet, doing so is essential for protecting product quality and reducing waste.

That’s why Technova’s entry into the GCCA couldn’t have come at a better moment. Our technology is built to support this very shift. We offer real-time temperature verification at the gates and docks of cold chain facilities, ensuring that trailer temperatures are captured automatically and accurately, the moment goods arrive or depart. Additionally, our systems integrate with key platforms, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Yard Management Systems (YMS) to create a seamless, end-to-end data flow.

This means:

  • No manual checks

  • No data gaps

  • No room for human error

Just reliable, actionable insights that allow cold chain operators to ensure food safety while staying ahead of operational inefficiencies.

At Technova, we believe that smart data and smart infrastructure are the future of cold logistics. As new standards emerge that prioritize transparency, efficiency, and sustainability, we’re excited about what’s ahead, and we’re ready to play our part.
